The SoyRoaster Model 10: Your On-Farm Roasting Solution

The Model 10 Roaster is a compact, fully automated roasting system designed specifically for small to mid-sized dairy operations feeding 200 to 700 cows. With a capacity of up to 3,000 lbs. of soybeans per day, it delivers the same consistent, high-quality roasting results as our larger models—all within a smaller footprint.

Flexible Installation Options to Fit Your Farm

We offer two convenient ways to bring the Model 10 Roaster to your operation:

1. Turnkey Container System: For the ultimate in convenience, the entire system comes pre-wired and fully assembled inside a 40′ shipping container. Simply connect your power, attach your fill auger, and install your discharge piping, and you’re ready to roast!

2. DIY Component System: Want to save on costs with a hands-on approach? We can ship you all the individual components to be installed in your own farm shed or barn. You can save money by installing the equipment and wiring up the components yourself, giving you a customized setup that fits your existing infrastructure.

The Roasting Process: Consistent and Efficient

Designed for continuous 24/7 operation, the Model 10 Roaster uses a proven method to ensure a perfect roast every time.

• Roasting: Soybeans are roasted in a double-wall chamber using heated oil, maintaining a stable temperature between 250−280° F for about 30 minutes. The unit’s incline allows the oil to self-circulate, guaranteeing even heat distribution without complex pumps.

• Steeping: After roasting, the beans enter a hopper to “steep” for 15 minutes. This crucial step allows residual heat to penetrate to the center of the soybean, ensuring a complete and quality roast.

• Cooling & Grinding: The beans then flow into a cooling section where ambient air brings them to room temperature, preserving nutritional quality. From there, an 18″ hammermill with a quick-change screen grinds the soybeans to a consistent texture through a 3/16″ to 5/16″ screen at a rate of up to 5 tons per hour.

Simple Controls, Safe Operation

The entire system is managed from a simple touchscreen panel. This central controller operates all components and includes built-in safety features like timers, over-temp shutoffs, and fill sensors for true walk-away confidence.
